Mrs. Melissa Bourgeois
Hello Dolphin Families!
I’m Melissa Bourgeois, and I’m so excited to continue as the Assistant Principal at Northwoods Park Middle School for my second year. The Park holds a special place in my heart—it’s where I started my teaching journey many years ago!
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in Mississippi, and after marrying my husband, we moved to the beautiful shores of Hawaii. While there, I earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University. In 2002, my husband received orders to Camp Lejeune, and we settled in the Richlands area. It was during this time that I rediscovered my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. I began my career as a Career and Technical Education teacher right here at Northwoods Park Middle School. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working at Richlands High School and Northside High School, continually growing professionally and earning my Master’s in Education, Master’s in School Administration, and National Board Certification.
My children are proud products of Onslow County Schools, with my daughter graduating from Richlands High in 2016 and my son in 2023. Seeing the commitment to excellence in our schools as a parent has fueled my passion for ensuring a successful school year for all students.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned the incredible value of building strong relationships and fostering a positive school culture. As your Assistant Principal, I’m dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported. Open communication, trust, and collaboration are key to our success, and I’m excited to work with each of you as we embark on this school year together.
I’m looking forward to collaborating with all of you to create a thriving educational community. Together, we’ll pave the way for a bright future where ALL students can learn and flourish. Let’s make the coming school year an incredible journey of growth and achievement!
See you soon!
